Roti John

Enjoy a delicious take on the classic Roti John with UPGRAIN®’s Sundried Tomato Buns. Packed with rich, savoury flavour, these buns perfectly complement the eggy, meaty filling – ideal for a satisfying mid-day meal inspired by Singapore street food.

Roti John

Serves 2

Bun substitute:


Ingredients:

  • ½ onion, diced

  • 250g ground beef or lamb

  • ½ red chilli, sliced (more for the heat seekers )

  • 2 tbsp curry powder

  • 1 tbsp cumin

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • Japanese mayo (optional, but trust us, add it!)

  • Sriracha/Chili sauce️

  • Cucumber slices


Cooking instructions:


  1. Sauté onions & spices with ground beef.  Remove from heat.️ ️

  2. Beat the eggs & pour into the cooked ground beef mixture.

  3. Lightly butter and toast UPGRAIN® Sundried Tomato Buns on the pan.

  4. Spoon the egg & ground beef mix onto the frying pan & cook through.

  5. ⁠Place the bun on top, flip over, then press together.

  6. Top with Sriracha, Japanese Mayo, and add cucumber slices for a flavor fiesta!
